Muscle origin: Anterior distal femoral shaft

Muscle insertion: Knee joint capsule

Muscle function: Tenses and pulls the knee joint capsule proximally under knee extension as the patella moves proximmaly in the groove.

Nerve innervation: L2-4 (Lovett reactor C2-4)

Organ relationship: Symp T8-L2 / Parasymp CX (Vagus), S2-4

Client is supine with the hip and knee both in a 45 deg. flexion so that the shin i horizontal. Stabilize the knee and apply pressure on the lower part of the shin (just above the ankle) towards knee flexion.
