Muscle function: Hip adduction and external rotation, control of Ilium and thereby also the Pubic and SI joint.

Muscle origin: Ramus ossis inferior

Muscle insertion: Linea aspera

Innervation: L3-4

Organ relationship: Liver (T10-L2)

Primary inhibitory muscles: Tensor fascie, Psoas major, Piriformis

Test for upper part

Both feet places sligth to opposite side of test leg with neutral rotation. Put pressure on test leg toward abduction.

Test for lower part

Both feet places sligth to opposite side of test leg and test leg in full external rotation. Put pressure on test leg toward abduction.

  • Hip Adduction: Pectineus, Add brevis, Add. magnus, Gracilis

  • Control of Pubic joint: Rectus abdominus, same and opposite side adductors (Pectineus, Add brevis, Add. magnus, Gracilis)
