Adductor magnus

Muscle function: Hip adduction, extension, internal and external rotation. Control of Ilium and hip stability.

Muscle origin: Inferior pubic ramus, ischial ramus and ischial tuberosity.

Muscle insertion: Gluteal tuberosity, medial lip of linea aspera, medial supracondylar line and adductor tubercle of femur

Nerve innervation: L2-4 (Lovett reactor C2-4)

Organ relationship: Bladder, Sex organs – T5-L4, S2-4 and Vagus

    • Sympathetic: T8-11
    • Parasympathetic: Vagus
  • Sex organs
    • Sympathetic: male T10-L4 / female T5-L4
    • Parasympathetic: S2-4
Extensor part
Client is supine. The test leg is extended and placed in full internal hip rotation. Fiksate the other leg with one hand and apply pressure towards hip flexion on the the test leg with the other hand.
Adductor part
Client is supine. The test leg is extended and placed in external hip rotation. Fiksate the other leg with one hand and apply pressure towards abduction on the the test leg with the other hand.
